Self-Harm / Suicide

It’s fine to feel suicidal. People will have thoughts of suicide at least once. Though suicide might seem like the only answer, you will find always other replies — you simply need to ask someone that will help you find them.

Telling means somebody can help you find ways of coping with what is happening. Here are some things you should do if you are feeling suicidal:

  • Call a local emergency line such as the Distress Centre (403)266-HELP (4357), the Kids Help Phone 1-800-668-6868, or the Outside is OK lineup 1-877-688-4765
  • Don’t isolate yourself
  • Talk to someone you trust
  • Eliminate any probable means you could use to hurt yourself.
  • Do not use alcohol or drugs

It can be tricky to get the help you need but you need to make a promise that you will keep asking for assistance! It could take asking several times but don’t quit! Help is out there.

What is Suicide ?

Suicide is when an individual chooses to kill himself or herself. When suicide is considered by folks, they do not find any way to address the problems they’re currently dealing and view it with. People considering suicide feel helpless and hopeless to alter life in a manner that will bring relief.

Quite frequently, suicide is a way someone chooses to deal with extreme, psychological pain which results from experiencing exceptionally difficult conditions, or occasionally a mental disorder like depression.
